MCP Setup

Prerequisites

• Node.js/npm for the documented TypeScript session setup.

Access requirements

• Composio API key and user ID; Ahrefs account.

Client setup

Claude Code

Transport: http

claude mcp add --transport http ahrefs-composio YOUR_MCP_URL_HERE --headers X-API-Key:YOUR_COMPOSIO_API_KEY

• Install the session helper dependencies: npm install @composio/core dotenv
• Use the documented Composio Tool Router script with toolkits: ["ahrefs"] to obtain the session mcp.url.
• Replace the URL and key placeholders; restart Claude Code.

Auth:

• Complete Ahrefs authorization through the Composio connection flow.
